“Korean silk” isn’t always 100% silk, in many hijab listings the term refers to a premium fabric or blend (often chiffon, mixed silk, or viscose blends) that has qualities similar to silk: smoothness, sheen, good drape.

Properties often include:

  • Lightweight and soft to the touch

  • Smooth surface

  • Slight sheen or subtle luster (but not overwhelming gloss)

  • Good drape: folds nicely, falls in graceful folds

  • Often less slippery than pure satin, depending on blend or finish

  • Breathable to some extent, especially if chiffon / fine weave
